The Acadian region of Baie Sainte-Marie is located right alongside the Atlantic Ocean and attracts many tourists every year. Music is a part of everyday life for everyone, a lot of the population being composed of musicians. Various restaurants in the region invite you to be entertained by local musicians and the community radio CIFA lets you hear the sounds of the region. The main road of Clare is the longest in Nova Scotia and crosses many fishing villages where you can find many impressive churches, such as the church of St. Bernard that holds over 1000 and the church of St. Mary's which has the tallest wooden spire in North America. The Municipality of Clare and its divisions are constantly organising various activities for the region and Le Courrier, the only French newspaper in Nova Scotia keeps everyone up to date on the latest news. The Conseil scolaire acadien is the only French school board of the province and continues to promote the French language in all of its 19 schools, including 4 in Clare.
